"Be dedicated to changing the way people see mental illness at all levels of society. If not for yourself, advocate for those who are struggling in silence." – Germany Kent

A few years ago, a loved one in Nigeria was confronted with a mental health crisis. It had stemmed from decades of no mental and emotional health checkup or maintenance, which had ballooned into a crisis. It was hard to find resources in Nigeria for several reasons, the same reasons why one wouldn't probably go for mental and emotional health checkups: stigma, lack of information about resources, trusted resources and so on.

Just like physical health, mental health should be checked on with the help of a professional no matter what spectrum of the mental health scale you believe you are in.
